Website design for hotels

We design websites for hotels, guesthouses, holiday apartments and rural cottages built to win more direct bookings and fewer OTA ones. Essential website for €400, Professional website for €600, with SEO and first-year domain and hosting included.

Guests often discover a small property on an OTA, then search for its name on Google. If they find a slow website with no prices and no booking button, they go back to the OTA and you pay commission on a guest who was already looking for you.

A good hotel website breaks that loop. We know the travel sector well and what travellers look for before they book.

Direct bookings versus OTAs

Major OTA commissions in Spain are typically around 15–18% per booking, and can exceed 20% with preferred-visibility programmes (approximate figures; they depend on your contract).

The goal is balance, not dropping OTAs: let them bring new guests while repeat guests and Google visitors book with you. A simple perk for booking direct usually does the trick.

Booking engine, channel manager and Google Hotel Ads

We integrate the booking engine you already use, or help you choose one. It should be:

  • Connected to your channel manager to avoid overbookings.
  • Embedded in your website's design, not a jarring external page.
  • Fast on mobile, with secure payment and clear tracking of bookings and revenue.

With a compatible engine and a well-kept Google Business Profile, your rates can appear in Google's hotel results alongside the OTAs, including free booking links. For a small rural cottage, an availability calendar and a good enquiry form may be enough.

What an accommodation website needs

  • Home page with a strong photo, a clear reason to stay and a visible date search.
  • One page per room type or cottage, with real photos, size, beds, amenities and a "from" price.
  • Services and experiences: restaurant, spa, pool, activities, pets, parking.
  • Location and surroundings: how to get there and what to see nearby, which is valuable SEO content.
  • Offers and packages, guest reviews and clear terms: check-in times, cancellation and your tourist registration number where your region requires it.

Pages, languages and local SEO

Travellers search for things like "boutique hotel near Madrid" or "rural cottage with pool in Ávila". We build a page per room type, service and area, add accommodation structured data, keep your Google profile consistent and create destination content. Every language version is optimised for its own market. For ongoing work, see local SEO.

FAQ

Will my own website make me independent of OTAs?

Not overnight, and it doesn't need to. Realistically, a growing share of bookings, especially repeat guests and people searching your name, becomes direct and commission-free.

Is the booking engine included in the price?

We include the integration. The engine itself is a specialist service with its own monthly fee or small per-booking charge, paid directly to the provider.

Do I need a channel manager?

If you sell on more than one channel, it is strongly recommended to avoid overbookings. A small cottage can start without one.

Can I offer lower prices on my website than on OTAs?

It depends on your contract and the applicable rules, which in Europe have limited rate-parity clauses. Check with each platform or your adviser. Exclusive perks for direct bookings are usually a safe option.

Do you build websites for small rural cottages?

Yes. The Essential website (€400) is usually enough and pays for itself with a handful of direct bookings.

How many languages should my hotel website have?

At least Spanish and English, plus any language your guest data shows is significant. Two well-translated languages beat five machine-translated ones.
